Zrekonštruovaný Draškovičov kaštieľ bude lákadlom pre turistov

The reconstructed Draškovič Manor House will be an attraction for tourists

Relaxation, refreshments, services, and culture. All this will be offered to the visitors of Draškovič Manor House after the reconstruction. The added value will be the touch of history that radiates from this building. Work on the restoration of this unique historical monument is progressing and the time until the arrival of the first visitors is getting shorter and shorter.

The contractor started the restoration of this historic monument in May last year. Part of the work is financed from the EEA and Norway Grants and the state budget of the Slovak Republic, part from the region's own resources. Their value is approximately EUR 2.4 million. "I firmly believe that this building will also serve for business purposes, because it can. There will be a café, various exhibitions, celebrations, and weddings," said the Chairman of the Trenčín Region Jaroslav Baška. There will also be a tourist-information and cultural-creative centre, or new expositions located throughout the manor. Since the last inspection day, the contractor has done a tremendous amount of work, have reseeded the masonry, dehumidified the building, and almost finished the facade. Inside, he has plastered the interior, completed the water supply and the connection to electricity, and the building has been sewered. "Everything is connected, and heating should start in two weeks, because it is very important that the building is dried out when the custom-made furniture will be assembled here and the expositions installed," the chairman added. The contractor should be able to complete all the work by mid-April next year. In parallel with the work, the tender for the equipment for the exhibition is also being tendered. "By the end of the year, a commercial tender for the lease and operation of the café will also be announced," the Chairman of the Trenčín Region said. The Trenčín Museum is also preparing a project for planting a garden near the Draškovič Manor House. "We have agreed with the municipality of Čachtice that one part of the land, on which an old house stands unused, will be transferred from the municipality to the region for a symbolic 1 euro, if the municipal council approves it, as a case of special consideration. The region will subsequently demolish the building at its own expense. The project documentation for the new garden will also include an extension of this land," the chairman said, adding that they would like to welcome the first visitors and tourists in the renovated premises as early as next summer.
