Another attractive tourist option will be added in Čachtice
In addition to Čachtice Castle, the former residence of the famous Elisabeth Báthory, tourists will soon be able to enjoy another historical monument. The Draškovič manor house is currently undergoing a complex reconstruction. Its surroundings will also undergo a makeover.
An inspection day in Čachtice was attended by the Chairman of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, who verified the state of the works together with the contractor and the mayor of the village. "In the main rooms, plastering, water, sewage and electricity distribution systems have been completed. The walls had to be connected with new brackets because the whole manor house had to be reinforced. As far as the exterior is concerned, the façade has been done in one part, it only needs to be painted and the other three sides still need to be finished. In the future, we want to prepare a project concerning the landscaping of the surroundings of the manor. We are currently talking with the mayor about the possibilities of possible land swaps," said Jaroslav Baška, the Chairman of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, after the tour of the manor. He added that all works must be consulted with the Regional Monuments Office because the manor is a national cultural monument. The cost of the restoration of the Draškovič manor, including the expositions, amounts to almost EUR 2.8 million. Of this amount, the county received EUR 800 thousand from a grant from the European Economic Area.
