Župa získala grant na obnovu Draškovičovho kaštieľa

The Self-Governing Region received a grant for the restoration of the Manor House of Draškovič

The late Renaissance monument in Čachtice will also be revitalised thanks to the European Economic Area (EEA) financial resources. By connecting different types of activities, the manor house will acquire not only a new coat of paint but also a new content and mission.

The national cultural monument - the Manor House of Draškovič, a branch of the Museum of Trenčín, currently serves as a museum. The expositions are devoted not only to the history of Čachtice but also to the Tatrín association or to the infamous Countess Elizabeth Báthory. The Self-Governing Region received an 800 000 € grant from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 to restore the manor house. More than 495 000 €, with the Self-Governing Region as a recipient, will be used for the comprehensive restoration of the manor house, improving its access and attractiveness. The remaining almost 305 000 € are intended for the Museum of Trenčín, which will extend the expositions in the manor house and add elements for the visually impaired and blind. There will also be a tourist information centre, a café, a cultural and creative centre and various museum-pedagogical activities. "These days, we are finalizing documents necessary for the conclusion of the grant contract. As this is indeed a challenging restoration of a significant cultural heritage, the Self-Governing Region will also contribute more than 1.38 million € from its budget. We plan to implement the project in 2021 – 2022,“ added Martina Lamačková, Head of the Regional Development Department of the Self-Governing Region of Trenčín.
